Jefferson County on Friday revoked the mask mandate it had passed a day prior.

At an emergency meeting, the Jefferson County Health Center Board of Trustees voted unanimously to revoke the ordinance. The decision was made after residents raised concerns about whether the board had appropriately notified the public before discussing the ordinance, the county said.

Bottom line is that now there is not a face mask requirement law going into effect in Jefferson County on Monday.

Good Earth Tools will continue to follow the directions of our state and local authorities along with the recommendations of the CDC to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Good Earth Tools will not make any immediate changes to the previous precautions we have in place prior to the Jefferson County facemask law flip flop to help protect ourselves.

This is a good time for a reminder that COVID-19 is still a serious health risk ! GET has taken many precautions to help reduce the risk from exposure to COVID-19 at work. We need everyone’s help to keep up the good fight to stay healthy!

· Follow the policies and procedures already in place related to illness, cleaning and disinfecting, work meetings (use Teams/stay 6+ feet apart ) and travel.

CONTINUE TO PRACTICE GOOD HYGIENE

• Wash your hands with soap and water or use hand sanitizer, especially after touching frequently used items or surfaces.
• Avoid touching your face.
• Sneeze or cough into a tissue, or the inside of your elbow.
• Disinfect frequently used items and surfaces as much as possible.
• Strongly consider using facemasks while in public or if physical distancing is not possible
• Practice physical distancing-stay 6 feet apart

There is no vaccine for COVID-19, but there is one for the flu.  You should strongly consider a flu shot. We have flu shots scheduled at work on 10/13, 14 & 15. Getting the flu and COVID-19 at the same time can make you very ill.
